La Palazzina Vigarani e il Giardino Ducale Estense - Alla scoperta di ville e castelli

From EUR 15

Guided tour of Palazzina Vigarani and the Ducal Garden Estense in the heart of Modena

Commissioned in the 17th century by Francesco I d'Este as a casino—a leisure retreat for the Este court—within the gardens of the Ducal Palace, the construction of the Palazzina is attributed to the architect Vigarani. A century later, the Duke gifted both the building and the park to the citizens of Modena.

During the tour, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the Lost Paradise exhibition inside the Palazzina.

The experience will conclude with a small aperitif at Bar Juta, located next to the Palazzina.

The visit is part of the series "Discovering Villas and Castles between Bologna and Modena."

  • Paradise Lost is the title of the exhibition by the Californian duo Fallen Fruit (David Allen and Austin Young), curated by Francesca Fontana, and hosted at the Ducal Gardens. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore it during the tour.
  • The exhibition is a performative exploration of biodiversity, featuring vibrant, immersive installations and previously unseen works, drawing from the image archive of the Museo della Figurina, where part of the exhibition will also be displayed.
