First Stage - From Modena to Mirandola - 40 km
The first part follows along the Via Germanica, on the cycle path positioned along the embankment of the Secchia River. Starting from the historic center of Modena, you'll arrive in the Municipality of Mirandola. From the height of the imposing embankment of the Secchia River, you can admire the entire panorama of the surrounding countryside. The panorama stretches as far as the eye can see, with poplar groves, water areas, and ancient ruins of manor houses.
Second Stage - From Mirandola to Modena - 40 km
The second stage deviates from the original route of the Via Germanica Imperiale. From Mirandola, you'll return to Modena following the embankment of the Panaro River, another tributary of the Po that crosses the province of Modena. Along the second stage, there are planned stops: the first in the municipality of Nonantola to visit the famous Abbey and Basilica of St. Silvestro, a Romanesque jewel, and the second stop will be at a Lambrusco winery for a guided tour of the winery with tasting.
