Riva Ridge Museum: Gothic Line – Felix Pedro - A journeys among Villas and Castles

A partir de EUR 15

The Museo dei Monti della Riva di Trignano, located in the hamlet of Trignano (municipality of Fanano), was inaugurated in 2012 in the former school building of the village, originally built in 1920. The museum was created to highlight the unique history of Trignano, focusing in particular on two main themes: the Gothic Line in the Riva Mountains—known to Americans as “Riva Ridge”—and the emigration from Fanano, especially through the story of Felice Pedroni, also known as Felix Pedro.

In the section dedicated to the Gothic Line of the Riva Mountains, alongside war relics and other objects found in the area, visitors can explore 40 biographies and personal testimonies of those who lived through that time—American, German, Brazilian, and Italian soldiers, partisans, civilians, Jews, women, and parish priests.

The museum is curated and managed by the Linea Gotica – Officina della Memoria Association.

The visit is part of the event series "A Journey among Villas and Castles between Modena and Bologna."

  • The Romanesque Parish Church of San Silvestro, located in the center of Fanano, is traditionally dated to the mid-8th century and attributed to Saint Anselm the Abbot. However, documented records only exist from the 13th century onward. Over the centuries, the structure has undergone various renovations, which may have even altered its original orientation.
