Palazzo Coccapani d'Aragona Modena - A journey among villas and castles

An opportunity to discover Palazzo Coccapani d’Aragona, built starting in 1683 and transformed over time through the contributions of illustrious owners, including Marchese Paolo Rango d’Aragona and Marchese Lodovico Coccapani Imperiali. Since 1947, the building has housed the National Academy of Sciences, Letters, and Arts of Modena. The Baroque façade, featuring large decorated windows and an impressive central portal, leads to lavish interiors rich in artistic details. The grand imperial staircase with three flights, adorned with stuccoes and mythological frescoes by Ludovico Bosellini, provides access to the Piano Nobile. The Palazzo is located in the historic center of Modena, just a short walk from the train station and the Palazzo Ducale.

The guided tour is part of the series ‘A journey among villas and castles'.
