Spend a weekend immersed in nature and walk with the Stray Dogs guides a stretch of Via Vandelli, the ancient commercial and military road strongly desired by Duke Francesco III d'Este, built in the mid-18th century to connect Modena, capital of the Estense Duchy , and Massa. Along the Via Vandelli, which takes its name from its creator and builder the abbot engineer, geographer and mathematician of the court Domenico Vandelli, you can go back to the time of the Este Duchy and enjoy breathtaking views along the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines and the Apuan  Alps.

1st day
9.00 am Meeting with the Guide in the Parking of the Piane di Mocogno (MO), Presentation and briefing of the trip.
9: 15/30 departure
Packed lunch to be paid by the participants. Beginning of the first stage with the ascent to Monte Cantiere, a small panoramic terrace overlooking the Modena Apennines, the original pavement will lead us to Passo Centocroci, through the basin of Lake Cavo, up to the famous Capanno Guerri, once reached the village "la Fabbrica", the descent begins along the old connecting road between Pievepelago and Via Vandelli, numerous fairy-tale villages.
Arrival in Pievepelago, aperitif and overnight stay with typical dinner at Hotel Bucaneve ***
Points of interest: Monte Cantiere, Lake Cavo, Capanno Guerri, Borgo La Fabbrica, Casoni and Pievepelago.

2nd day 
In the center of Pievepelago there will be the possibility to buy a packed lunch
9.30 am: connection by minibus to the start of the second stage, short and easy towards San Pellegrino in Alpe.
The events of Obizzo da Montegarullo will take us to high altitude, overcoming the slopes of Monte Rocca overlooking Sasso Tignoso, the Pelago volcano. Enter the famous Romanesque Forest and reached the Lagadello Pass, a superstitious Giro del Diavolo awaits us.
Arrival in San Pellegrino in Alpe, visit to the sanctuary with a panoramic view of the Apuan Alps and Monte Forato.
Lunch, and return to the Piane di Mocogno by minibus.
