Bosco Albergati - A Journeys among Villas and Castles

Bosco Albergati in Castelfranco Emilia is a 40-hectare lowland woodland designed by Cesare Leonardi together with Giancarlo Martinelli and created by a group of volunteers in the early 1990s. It is the landmark expression of Cesare Leonardi’s vision of architecture and landscape, and the only concrete application of the Acentric Reticular Structure (SRA), a modular system developed for the design of parks. Bosco Albergati is a place conceived by humans to be inhabited by nature and to become a meeting and celebration space for many communities. It is open to everyone throughout the day and is cared for and promoted by the “La Città degli Alberi” association. During the visit to the park, where the English oak is the main tree species alongside countless other trees and shrubs, visitors will discover the story behind the project and its creation: an epic undertaking aimed at leaving a woodland as a legacy for future generations.
